Paramaribo, June 2025 – Atlas Professionals is launching the first Greenhands Offshore event in Paramaribo from 24 to 26 July, designed to identify and develop local talent for offshore energy projects and support the country’s emergence as a new offshore market.

As Suriname’s offshore industry grows, so does the need to build talent pipelines for the future. In emerging markets like Suriname, it is essential to go beyond recruitment by investing in local workforce development. The Greenhands Offshore programme targets individuals with transferable skills or a technical background, and prepares them for work on local offshore projects.

On 24, 25, and 26 July, Atlas Professionals will train three groups of 20 local candidates in Paramaribo, in cooperation with Noble Corporation, SBM Offshore, Petronas, Chevron, Staatsolie, and Kersten Training Academy. Each day, participants will follow a structured training programme covering offshore safety and risk awareness, emergency response preparedness, soft skills, and client and industry knowledge.

From understanding Red Zones and risk management to developing communication, teamwork, and commercial awareness, candidates gain practical insights and behaviours needed for a safe and successful offshore career.

This event marks the start of a long-term initiative. Atlas Professionals and its partners are committed to delivering further Greenhands Offshore programmes across Suriname, aligned with the growth of offshore and onshore infrastructure.
