Senior Electrical Engineer – Transmission Package

Job description

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the delivery of the onshore transmission scope for major renewable energy projects in Korea. Working closely with internal project teams, engineering consultants and contractors, you will provide technical leadership across the design, procurement and execution phases, ensuring electrical systems are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with project requirements.

This role offers the opportunity to work across complex high-voltage infrastructure, supporting engineering decisions from early development through construction and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the engineering and technical coordination of onshore transmission works across utility-scale energy projects.
• Review and manage electrical design deliverables, ensuring quality, compliance and alignment with project objectives.
• Coordinate with engineering consultants, contractors and suppliers throughout the engineering and delivery process.
• Support the design and integration of high-voltage electrical infrastructure, including substations, transmission systems, transformers, switchgear and protection systems.
• Work closely with internal grid specialists and external stakeholders to support grid connection activities and technical approvals.
• Provide technical input into procurement activities, including preparation of technical specifications, tender evaluations and supplier engagement.
• Support engineering reviews, technical due diligence and value engineering initiatives across project development activities.
• Participate in equipment inspections, testing, commissioning and site activities where required.
• Identify technical risks and develop practical engineering solutions throughout project delivery.
  
  

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Approximately 10 years' experience delivering high-voltage electrical or transmission infrastructure projects.
• Experience within renewable energy, utilities, transmission, power generation or other major infrastructure sectors.
• Strong understanding of substation design, transmission systems and grid integration.
• Experience working with engineering consultancies, EPC contractors or project developers.
• Familiarity with electrical design documentation and engineering review processes.
• Knowledge of Korean electrical standards and utility requirements would be advantageous.
