Atlas NextWave Participates in Luderitz Oil & Gas Open Day
Atlas NextWave was proud to participate in the 2026 Namibia Trailblazer Energy Connect Awards, organised by the Namibia Youth Energy Forum (NYEF). The event brought together influential voices shaping the future of Namibia’s energy sector. Our colleague Dorianne Zammit Cutajar joined a distinguished panel on Building an Inclusive Namibian Energy Landscape, sharing insights on how skills development, youth participation and industry collaboration will define the next chapter of Namibia’s energy transformation.
The panel featured respected industry leaders, including Hon. Kornelia Shilunga, Head of the Upstream Petroleum Unit at the Office of the President. Discussions centred on creating an energy ecosystem where opportunity is accessible, talent is nurtured early and competence is the foundation for long term national growth.
In her keynote, Hon. Shilunga reaffirmed the Presidency’s strong support for the Namibia Youth Energy Forum. She highlighted that young Namibians are not just future contributors but active architects of the country’s energy landscape. Their involvement in exploration, production, renewable innovation and policy design will be essential to driving inclusive and sustainable growth.
Before the panel began, Atlas NextWave’s Greenhand videos were showcased on the main event screen and received an enthusiastic response from the audience. This recognition reinforces the impact of Greenhand as a programme that opens doors for new talent and equips emerging professionals with the skills required to succeed in offshore energy.
Speakers throughout the event echoed a shared message. Excellence in maritime oil and gas is measured by competence, not by gender. True progress is achieved when every qualified professional is empowered to lead, serve and advance without bias or limits. This principle reflects Atlas NextWave’s purpose as a knowledge partner supporting clients and communities with trusted capability.
The event celebrated individuals who are shaping the future of Namibia’s energy sector, including prominent contributors such as Laimi Ndilimeke Shigwedha, Gisela Sebastião, Rebekka-Tsenaye Nghilalulwa, Stefanie Busch and Fanuel Shinedima. Their experience and commitment continue to inspire a more united, innovative and resilient sector.
