Building the Workforce of the Future in Namibia

Preparing Namibia’s workforce for offshore energy is not something that can be done alone. It takes collaboration between government, industry and local communities. That is why the programme is embraced not only by national partners such as the Namibia Youth Energy Forum (NYEF), the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB), the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR), the Namibian Maritime and Fisheries Institute (NAMFI) and the Namibian Association for Offshore Oil and Gas Service Providers (NAOGSP), but also by a growing group of international companies.

Bringing Everyone Together

At the heart of this effort is Dorianne Zammit Cutajar, Business Manager Africa & Mediterranean at Atlas NextWave, who has been the driving force in bringing partners together around one shared goal. By building on the proven Greenhands programme, successfully rolled out in countries such as Suriname and Brazil, she has helped to establish a model that fits Namibia’s future needs.
