Delivering offshore wind projects at scale requires more than technical expertise. It requires the ability to mobilise the right people, at the right time, across multiple contractors, disciplines and work scopes.

The Challenge

Sunrise Wind is one of the largest offshore wind developments currently under construction in the United States. Led by Ørsted, the project has a planned generation capacity of 924 MW and is expected to provide renewable electricity to approximately 600,000 homes across New York. The scale and complexity of the project require the coordination of multiple contractors, specialist disciplines and offshore installation activities. Workforce availability, mobilisation, compliance and project readiness are critical factors in maintaining safe and efficient project execution. To support these requirements, project stakeholders needed a workforce partner capable of delivering specialist offshore personnel across multiple work packages and stages of project delivery.

The Solution

Atlas NextWave provided integrated workforce solutions supporting key contractors involved in the Sunrise Wind project, including Ørsted, Boskalis, Jan De Nul and Nexans. Drawing on extensive offshore wind and marine experience, Atlas NextWave supplied specialist personnel across a range of construction, installation and project support activities.

Our support included:

  • Offshore construction and installation personnel
  • Client representatives and package support specialists
  • Cable installation and testing personnel
  • Offshore export and inter-array cable support teams
  • Union and non-union workforce deployment
  • Project mobilisation and workforce planning
  • Compliance management and workforce readiness support

By combining recruitment, mobilisation and operational workforce support, Atlas NextWave helped ensure projects could access qualified personnel when and where they were needed.
