The Opportunity

We are supporting an international project delivery organisation with the appointment of an experienced Project Director to lead major construction and capital projects across South Korea.

This is a senior leadership position operating on the Owner's Representative / client side, acting as the client's senior representative and trusted advisor throughout the full project lifecycle.

The Project Director will provide strategic oversight from early planning and design through procurement, construction, commissioning and project completion, ensuring projects achieve their objectives across safety, cost, schedule, quality and risk.

The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary project teams, manage senior stakeholder relationships and provide oversight of contractors, consultants and other project partners.

Experience working on both the Owner/Client side and General Contractor (GC) side would be particularly valuable.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the senior representative and primary liaison for client leadership throughout project delivery

• Lead overall project strategy across design, procurement, construction and project completion

• Provide oversight across scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety and risk

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including Senior Project Managers and Project Managers

• Monitor project budgets, schedules and quality performance and drive corrective actions where required

• Oversee contractors, consultants and project delivery partners

• Lead contract strategy, procurement oversight and commercial management

• Support tender management, contract negotiations and resolution of commercial issues

• Coordinate with authorities and regulatory bodies regarding permitting, approvals and compliance

• Identify and manage major project risks and ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are implemented

• Align internal and external stakeholders and support senior-level project decision-making

• Maintain strong project governance and consistent delivery standards

• Provide executive-level reporting and communication to clients and key stakeholders

• Support project staffing, planning, process improvement and broader business initiatives

About You

We are looking for a senior construction and project management professional with extensive experience leading complex, large-scale projects.

You should have:

• 18+ years of progressive experience delivering major construction or capital projects

• Significant experience in senior project leadership positions

• Strong experience as an Owner's Representative or in a client-side project management role

• Experience managing projects across the full lifecycle, from planning and design through construction and completion

• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams

• Strong understanding of project governance, contracts, procurement and commercial management

• Strong knowledge of cost, schedule, risk, quality and safety management

• Experience managing General Contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders

• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and executive communication skills

• Working knowledge of Korean construction regulations, permitting processes and safety requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related discipline

• Professional fluency in Korean and English, both written and verbal

• Legal authorization to work in South Korea without employer-sponsored visa support

Relevant Project Experience

Experience delivering large-scale commercial, mission-critical, advanced technology or data centre projects would be highly relevant.
