    Job description

Senior Project Planner / Scheduler - Data Centres

    Location: South Korea
    Employment Type: Permanent
    Language: Korean & English
Working Pattern: Site-based assignments with location flexibility required

    The Opportunity

We are supporting an international organisation with the appointment of a Senior Project Planner / Scheduler to support the delivery of major data centre and mission-critical projects across South Korea.

This is a permanent position within a growing project delivery team. The successful candidate will initially support an active data centre project and, as projects progress through completion, will transition onto other projects within the organisation's Korea portfolio.

The role will be primarily site-based during key phases of project delivery. Candidates should expect to be based at project sites for significant periods during construction phases and must be comfortable relocating or travelling to different project locations across South Korea as required.

The role will focus on developing and managing project schedules, monitoring progress, identifying programme risks and supporting project teams in achieving successful and timely delivery.

This is a senior project controls position requiring strong technical planning expertise, combined with the ability to work effectively with contractors, consultants, project teams and senior stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules covering design, procurement, construction and commissioning

    • Establish and manage project baselines, milestones and critical path activities

    • Monitor contractor progress and validate reported schedule performance

    • Analyse schedule performance and identify emerging risks to project delivery

    • Carry out critical path, delay and schedule risk analysis

    • Develop recovery and mitigation plans where projects are at risk of delay

    • Work closely with contractors and project teams to understand progress, constraints and potential impacts

    • Support project planning workshops, pull planning and short-term planning activities

    • Coordinate schedule interfaces across multiple project disciplines and work packages

    • Provide regular schedule updates and reporting to project leadership and key stakeholders

    • Assess the potential impact of design, procurement and construction changes on the overall programme

    • Support the development and implementation of project planning and controls processes

    • Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement of planning processes

    • Challenge schedule assumptions and ensure reported progress is supported by actual project performance

    About You

We are looking for an experienced Project Planner / Scheduler with a strong background in major construction projects and advanced project controls capability.

    You should have:

    • 8+ years of experience in construction planning, scheduling or project controls

    • Experience working on large-scale ground-up construction projects

    • Strong understanding of Critical Path Methodology (CPM)

    • Proven experience in schedule development and control

    • Strong experience with schedule risk analysis, delay analysis and recovery planning

    • Advanced Primavera P6 experience

    • Experience working directly with construction teams and contractors

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Ability to interpret complex project data and translate it into clear actions and recommendations

    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline preferred

    • Fluent Korean and English, both written and verbal

    • Willingness to be based on project sites for extended periods, including assignments lasting several months

    • Flexibility to travel or relocate between project locations across South Korea

    Data Centre Experience

Previous experience delivering data centre or other mission-critical projects is highly desirable.

Experience on projects involving complex construction sequencing, significant MEP packages, long-lead equipment and commissioning activities would be particularly relevant.

Experience with the following would also be advantageous:

    • Hyperscale or large-scale data centres

    • Colocation facilities

    • Mission-critical infrastructure

    • Large commercial developments

    • Industrial or technologically complex facilities

    • Major MEP construction projects

    • Pull planning, phase planning or short-interval planning

    • Model-based or integrated scheduling

    What's on Offer

    • Permanent position with an established international project delivery organisation

    • Opportunity to work across a growing portfolio of major data centre projects in Korea

    • Initial assignment on a major data centre project, with transition onto future projects as projects are completed

    • Site-based project experience across multiple locations in Korea

    • Exposure to international clients and large-scale mission-critical developments

    • Collaborative and international working environment

    • Professional development and long-term career opportunities

    • Competitive salary and benefits package

Candidates should be comfortable with the nature of project-based work and the requirement to spend extended periods on site before transitioning to subsequent projects.

If you are a Senior Planner, Scheduler or Project Controls professional with strong Primavera P6 experience and a background in major construction projects, we'd be interested in hearing from you.
