    Atlas NextWave is supporting a major UK energy operator with the recruitment of an experienced Permit & Isolation Coordinator to join their operations team in Barrow-in-Furness. This opportunity offers a long-term contract aligned with the remaining operational life of a significant offshore gas production hub.

    Job description

    The Role

    As Permit & Isolation Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe planning, authorization, and execution of maintenance and operational activities. Working within an established Control of Work framework, you will coordinate permit-to-work activities, manage isolation processes, support SIMOPS reviews, and maintain the highest standards of safety and compliance.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage day-to-day Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) activities.
    • Chair daily permit verification and SIMOPS meetings.
    • Act as Issuing Authority for Permit-to-Work activities.
    • Prepare, review, and control Isolation Control Certificates (ICCs).
    • Support operational integrity and Control of Work compliance initiatives.
    • Maintain work management system compliance and data integrity.
    • Conduct audits and drive continuous improvement in permit and isolation processes.

    What We're Looking For

    • Strong experience within Permit to Work and Isolation Management systems.
    • Background in oil & gas, petrochemical, terminal, or process plant operations.
    • Practical understanding of Control of Work, SIMOPS, and operational risk management.
    • Engineering qualification, apprenticeship, ONC, BTEC, or equivalent technical background.
    • IOSH or similar HSE competency would be advantageous.
