    Job description

    Offshore Substation Package Manager

Seoul, South Korea | Korean & International Candidates Welcome

Atlas NextWave is exclusively supporting a leading international offshore wind developer on the appointment of an experienced Offshore Substation Package Manager.

This is a senior project leadership opportunity within a major offshore wind development, offering the chance to take ownership of one of the project's most technically complex and strategically important packages.

The successful candidate will lead the delivery of the Offshore Substation (OSS) across the full project lifecycle from engineering and procurement through fabrication, transport, offshore installation, commissioning and final handover.

You will operate at the centre of a highly integrated project environment, working with major international contractors, engineering partners and internal stakeholders to drive delivery, manage interfaces and ensure the project meets its safety, schedule, cost and quality objectives.

    The Opportunity

As Offshore Substation Package Manager, you will have overall accountability for the successful execution of the OSS package and will play a key role in shaping how the project is delivered.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Providing senior leadership and strategic direction across the OSS package throughout the project lifecycle.

    • Taking ownership of major engineering, fabrication, transportation, installation and commissioning activities.

    • Leading relationships with major EPC/EPCI contractors and suppliers, ensuring strong performance against contractual, technical and delivery requirements.

    • Managing a complex network of interfaces across foundations, turbines, export systems, onshore infrastructure and marine construction.

    • Maintaining oversight of package cost, schedule, risk and overall delivery performance.

    • Leading commercial and technical discussions, including change management, variations and claims.

    • Driving a strong culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement across the package.

    • Providing clear recommendations, reporting and decision support to senior project leadership.

    • Building and leading a high-performing multidisciplinary package team.

    • Ensuring effective project close-out, documentation and transition into operations.

    The Profile

We are looking for an established offshore project leader with the technical credibility and leadership capability to take ownership of a major OSS package.

    You are likely to bring:

    • 10+ years of relevant offshore project experience, with substantial exposure to offshore substations, topsides, jackets, fabrication and offshore installation.

    • Proven experience taking major offshore packages through engineering, fabrication, installation and commissioning.

    • Strong practical understanding of offshore transport and installation operations.

    • Experience managing major contractors and complex multi-disciplinary interfaces.

    • Strong commercial and contractual awareness, ideally within EPC/EPCI or comparable project environments.

    • Previous experience leading project teams, packages or major workstreams.

    • A technical degree in Mechanical, Structural Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

    • Project management certification such as PMP, IPMA or equivalent is advantageous.

Technical expertise should include a strong understanding of areas such as:

    • Offshore substation topsides and jackets

    • Structural fabrication and offshore construction

    • High-voltage systems and equipment

    • Transformers, GIS, switchgear, busbars and reactors

    • Transport & Installation

    • Hook-up and commissioning

    • Marine installation and offshore logistics

    Leadership & Influence

Beyond technical expertise, this appointment requires someone who can lead through influence, make sound decisions in a complex project environment and maintain momentum across multiple stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be commercially aware, highly organised and comfortable operating at senior level with contractors, project leadership and external stakeholders.

You will be expected to challenge constructively, anticipate risk and provide solutions rather than simply manage issues as they arise.

    Why This Opportunity?

This is an opportunity to join a significant offshore wind project at a key stage of development and take genuine ownership of a high-profile delivery package.

The role offers substantial exposure across engineering, construction, commercial and project leadership, with the opportunity to make a direct impact on project outcomes and the successful delivery of a major offshore renewable energy asset.

    Location

    Seoul, South Korea

The role is primarily based in Seoul, with flexibility required to support project activities, contractors and offshore operations as required.

Both Korean nationals and international candidates are encouraged to apply.

Atlas NextWave is managing this appointment on a confidential basis.
