    Job description

    Material Resource Planning (MRP) Controller (MRPC - Buy)

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Material Resource Planning (MRP) Controller to join a leading industrial engineering and manufacturing business based in Lincoln. As an MRPC, you will create, maintain and communicate detailed delivery plans for specific part orders across the supply chain, ensuring customer commitments and production requirements are achieved. You will also provide the Supply Chain Management Team with visibility of delivery risks and opportunities that may impact business performance.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Respond to demand changes by providing the Team Leader and Purchasing Manager with clear visibility of the impact on customer requirements and delivery commitments.
    • Maintain component planning data, including both master and dynamic data, to ensure demand is accurately cascaded throughout the supply chain.
    • Plan and manage stock levels across the supply chain, ensuring inventory targets are achieved and materials are utilised effectively.
    • Ensure supplier delivery commitments are accurately maintained within SAP, manage supplier queries, and monitor schedule adherence to support on-time delivery.
    • Support new part introductions and ensure compliance with established supply chain processes and procedures.
    • Use standard systems, processes and reporting tools to identify and resolve potential delivery risks.
    • Act as the primary operational contact for suppliers, managing relationships and driving improvements in planning, inventory management, lead times, subcontract services and delivery performance.
    • Lead supplier business reviews, ensuring performance expectations are met across Quality, Cost and Delivery objectives.
    • Coordinate delivery issues, manage shortages and recovery plans, and escalate risks where required.
    • Assess supplier capacity and workload constraints to proactively identify potential impacts on delivery performance.

    About You

    • Experience within Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Logistics or Supply Chain environments.
    • Knowledge of production planning, scheduling and inventory control principles.
    • Understanding of quality systems and ERP systems, ideally SAP or similar platforms.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Proactive problem-solver with the confidence to challenge issues and drive solutions.
    • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while taking ownership of individual responsibilities.
    • Committed to continuous improvement and personal development.
    • Comfortable engaging with suppliers, internal stakeholders and customers at all levels.
