    Job description

Construction Manager - Mission Critical Projects (South Korea)Overview

A leading international developer and operator of mission-critical facilities is expanding its construction team in South Korea and is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects.
This position will take ownership of project execution across multiple stages of development, working closely with engineering teams, consultants, contractors, and operations to ensure facilities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with business objectives. The role requires both strategic project oversight and hands-on leadership throughout active construction.

What You'll Be Responsible ForDrive Overall Project Success

Rather than focusing on a single discipline, you'll be responsible for ensuring every aspect of construction progresses according to plan. This includes balancing schedule, cost, quality, safety, and stakeholder expectations while maintaining visibility across multiple concurrent workstreams.
You'll anticipate project risks early, coordinate mitigation strategies, and keep delivery teams aligned toward key milestones.

    Lead Construction Execution

Act as the owner's representative throughout construction, providing leadership from contractor mobilization through final completion.
    Responsibilities include:

    • Overseeing daily site activities and construction progress
    • Coordinating contractors and specialist trade partners
    • Resolving technical and commercial issues that may impact delivery
    • Ensuring work is executed in accordance with approved drawings and project requirements
    • Supporting commissioning and project handover activities

    Manage Commercial Performance

Take ownership of construction-related financial performance by monitoring project spending, validating contractor claims, and supporting commercial decision-making throughout execution.
You'll work closely with internal stakeholders to:

    • Track budget performance
    • Review variations and scope adjustments
    • Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency
    • Support forecasting and financial reporting
    • Maintain commercial transparency throughout the project lifecycle

    Build Strong Working Relationships

Success in this position depends heavily on communication.
    You'll regularly engage with:

    • Internal project leadership
    • Design and engineering teams
    • Operations and facility management
    • External consultants
    • General contractors
    • Vendors and suppliers

The role requires someone capable of bringing multiple parties together, driving decisions, and maintaining project momentum even when priorities compete.

    Champion Safe and High-Quality Delivery

Promote a culture where safety and quality remain the highest priorities throughout every stage of construction.
    This includes:

    • Monitoring contractor compliance
    • Supporting site safety initiatives
    • Performing regular quality reviews
    • Addressing construction deficiencies quickly
    • Ensuring completed work meets both regulatory and operational requirements

    Improve Delivery Standards

Beyond managing individual projects, you'll contribute to improving how projects are delivered.
    Examples include:

    • Streamlining construction workflows
    • Improving reporting and project controls
    • Sharing lessons learned between projects
    • Supporting standardization across future developments
    • Helping refine internal delivery processes and governance

We're Looking For Someone Who Has

    • Degree qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
    • Experience leading complex construction projects from planning through completion.
    • Previous exposure to data centres, mission critical facilities, semiconductor manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical, industrial, or other technically complex facilities.
    • Strong understanding of MEP systems and how they integrate into large-scale construction projects.
    • Demonstrated experience managing contractors, consultants, budgets, schedules, project risks, and commercial performance.
    • Ability to make sound decisions within fast-paced project environments.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across both technical and executive audiences.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
    • Fluent Korean and English communication skills.
