Home | Insights | Australia & New Zealand | Onshore Catering Partnership – New Zealand
At the beginning of February Atlas commenced operations at the Kapuni Production station, onshore Taranaki, providing catering services to Kapuni’s boutique canteen operation.
This operation signals the commencement of a new partnership with onshore operator Todd Energy, and is the first long term contract Atlas have secured in onshore Taranaki for many years.
Whilst the scope of work is small, the field itself will double in size in Q2 2020, when the Vector gas treatment plant is amalgamated into the Kapuni site. Operating as a true canteen – user pays system – the success of this contract will be largely driven by the quality of service, food and partnership with Todd Energy over the coming months. “This is a really exciting opportunity for Atlas NZ in the onshore catering arena” says David Bishop, General Manager NZ at Atlas Professionals.
The Kapuni field is located in the shadow of Mount Taranaki, near the small Kaponga township, some 65 km south of New Plymouth, and 10 km west of Eltham. Kapuni is the oldest producing natural gas-condensate field in New Zealand and this mature onshore field is surpassed in original size only by the offshore Maui field.
