Empowering Namibia’s Future Workforce through Greenhands Offshore
Namibia is rapidly emerging as one of Africa’s most exciting new energy frontiers. As the country prepares for large-scale offshore oil and gas developments, the focus is clear: building a skilled, compliant, and future-ready local workforce.
At Atlas NextWave, we see this as both a responsibility and an opportunity. With more than 45 years of global experience in offshore energy recruitment, we understand what it takes to support industry leaders and governments in developing sustainable local content strategies. To strengthen our long-term commitment, we have recently established a local entity in Namibia, ensuring we can deliver workforce solutions tailored to the country’s needs.
Introducing Greenhand Offshore in Namibia
In September 2025, we will bring our flagship Greenhand Offshore programme to Namibia, in partnership with the Namibia Youth Energy Forum. This initiative is designed to train and prepare new entrants for offshore careers, equipping them with the knowledge, safety awareness, and mindset required to succeed in one of the world’s most demanding industries.
From 22 to 26 September, our Greenhands team, consisting of Mark McDonald, Liam Cornell, and Idries Sheik-Zahori, together with Business Manager Africa & Mediterranean Dorianne Zammit Cutajar, will run four dedicated courses: two in Walvis Bay and two in Windhoek. Each session will prepare 30 participants, giving a total of 120 local candidates the chance to start their journey toward a career in the oil and gas sector
