    Atlas NextWave are supporting a leading energy operator in the search for an experienced Technical Manager to join a major Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) development project based in Aberdeen. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role in the delivery of a significant UK energy transition project from concept through to execution.

    Job description

    As part of the project leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing the engineering strategy, providing technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams and supply chain partners, and ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the multi-disciplinary design, engineering and development activities for a major CCS project.
    • Provide strategic engineering leadership across concept, FEED, execution and operational readiness stages.
    • Drive the implementation of engineering standards, procedures and design integrity requirements.
    • Lead engineering governance, technical risk management and management of change processes.
    • Coordinate and optimise engineering resource deployment across project activities.
    • Work closely with project management and supply chain teams to ensure high-quality and cost-effective engineering delivery.
    • Evaluate and support the adoption of emerging technologies and industry best practices.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Support project budget management and delivery against programme objectives.

    Candidate Requirements

    • Significant project engineering management experience gained within the energy, infrastructure or major projects sector.
    • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams on large-scale capital projects.
    • Strong understanding of engineering risk management, governance and assurance processes.
    • Demonstrated ability to balance technical and commercial decision-making.
    • Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
    • Results-focused with a collaborative and proactive approach.
    • Experience supporting complex project delivery through concept, FEED and execution phases.
    • Chartered Engineer status.
    • Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline.
