Our client is seeking a Geophysical/Geotechnical Surveyor to join their fiber optic cable project in the US. This will be a primarily remote position with some travel required. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Job description

Responsibilities:

Map shallow geological structures, locate buried infrastructure, and identify bedrock depths and soil corrosivity to protect the cable
Utilize specialized software to process raw geophysical and geotechnical data, creating 2D/3D ground models and cross-sectional profiles
Author factual and interpretive ground investigation reports. Highlight potential geohazards (e.g., sinkholes, shallow rock, or contaminated soil) that could disrupt cable route

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geophysics, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or a closely related geosciences field
3-7 years of direct field and office experience, ideally within civil infrastructure, renewable energy (onshore or subsea cables), or utility routing
Proficiency in surveying data software
