Senior Field Service Technician – ESS

Battery energy storage is changing how we use electricity-and keeping these installations safe, reliable and performing at their best takes experienced people in the field. We're recruiting a Senior Field Service Technician for an established smart energy technology company. This is a hands-on role combining complex troubleshooting, customer contact and team mentoring, with the independence to take ownership of your work.

Your impact
You'll maintain and troubleshoot advanced Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) at customer sites throughout the Netherlands, with occasional assignments abroad. From diagnosing electrical faults to supporting commissioning, your work will directly contribute to installation safety, performance and uptime.

You will:

• Diagnose and resolve electrical and control-system faults, working with Support Engineers to address root causes.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and replace or configure components, including inverters, power electronics, sensors and UPS systems.
• Perform measurements, testing and commissioning support on LV/HV installations in accordance with NEN 3140/3840.
• Produce clear service reports and help meet contractual uptime and response targets.
• Feed practical insights back to engineering and product teams to improve equipment and service.
• Guide and mentor colleagues, sharing your technical knowledge and safe working practices.
• Participate in on-call duties and shift work when required.

What you bring
You're an experienced electrical specialist who enjoys solving problems, takes safety seriously and communicates confidently with customers and colleagues.

• MBO-4 or HBO qualification in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Automation.
• At least seven years of relevant field service experience, including supervisory experience in a B2B environment.
• Strong knowledge of LV/HV installations and power electronics.
• NEN 3140/3840 certification, VCA VOL and IV/WV authorizations-or willingness to obtain the authorizations promptly.
• Strong Dutch and English communication skills.
• A category B driving license and flexibility for frequent travel, on-call duties and occasional evening or weekend work.

Experience with Siemens PLCs and embedded software is an advantage, as is BHV certification.
