Senior Electrical Project Manager - Data Centres

The Opportunity

We are supporting an international organisation working across major data centre and mission-critical infrastructure projects in Korea.

They are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Project Manager / Senior Electrical Project Manager to join an established project team supporting the delivery of a large-scale data centre development in Gimpo.

This is a genuine Project Management position, with responsibility for managing the electrical scope from design development through construction, testing and commissioning. We are specifically looking for candidates who have progressed beyond site supervision and can demonstrate experience managing contractors, consultants, schedules, costs and multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the electrical package across design, construction and commissioning

• Coordinate electrical design development and resolve technical issues with consultants and contractors

• Manage electrical contractors and specialist suppliers throughout project delivery

• Review technical drawings, specifications, submissions and construction proposals

• Lead electrical coordination meetings and track actions through to completion

• Monitor construction progress against programme, quality and cost requirements

• Coordinate procurement of major electrical equipment and long-lead items

• Support tendering, contractor selection and commercial evaluations

• Review variations, payment applications and cost impacts

• Oversee electrical quality control and commissioning activities

• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies

• Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, commissioning teams and other project stakeholders

• Liaise with relevant Korean authorities and utilities where required

• Ensure electrical works are delivered safely and in accordance with project requirements

• Provide regular reporting on progress, technical issues, risks and key deliverables
  
  

About You

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Project Manager with a strong track record delivering complex construction projects.

You should have:

• Minimum 5 years of site-based construction experience, in addition to any office-based experience

• A degree or technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, MEP, Construction Management or a related discipline

• Proven experience managing electrical works on large-scale construction projects

• Experience managing contractors and subcontractors rather than purely supervising site activities

• Strong understanding of electrical installation, design coordination, procurement and commissioning

• Experience with project schedules, cost control, change management and quality management

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

• Good understanding of Korean construction requirements and permitting processes

• Fluent Korean and English

Candidates at Senior Project Manager level with significant experience managing major electrical packages are also encouraged to apply.

Data Centre Experience

Previous experience on data centre or other mission-critical projects is highly desirable.

Relevant backgrounds may include experience with:

• Hyperscale or large-scale data centres

• Colocation data centres

• Mission-critical facilities

• Large industrial or technology facilities

• Complex MEP construction projects

• High-voltage / critical power infrastructure

Candidates with strong electrical project management experience from adjacent sectors may also be considered where they can demonstrate experience managing complex, high-value construction projects.
