Marine Mammal Observer (MMO) - Offshore Australia

6-Month Contract | Commencing November 2026
We are seeking experienced Marine Mammal Observers (MMOs) for a 6-month offshore project in Australian waters, commencing November 2026.

About the Role

You will be responsible for:

Conducting marine mammal observations from offshore vessels/platforms
Identifying and recording marine mammal sightings and environmental conditions
Monitoring exclusion zones and implementing mitigation measures
Maintaining accurate field records and daily reports
Communicating sightings and environmental requirements to the offshore team
Supporting project environmental compliance

Requirements

Previous Marine Mammal Observer experience
Valid BOSIET/FOET
Valid Offshore Medical
Strong observation, identification and reporting skills
Ability to work effectively in an offshore environment
Australian working rights required
