Atlas NextWave is supporting a major UK energy operator with an ongoing requirement for experienced Instrument Maintenance Technicians to join a highly skilled maintenance team at a key gas processing facility.

Job description

This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term contract role with work expected to continue until the site's planned end of production in 2028. Whilst the current week-on/week-off rotation remains in place through August and September, technicians will transition to a fixed 9-day fortnight working pattern from 1st October, offering an attractive work-life balance.

The Role

Working as part of the onsite maintenance team, you will undertake routine and corrective maintenance activities to ensure the continued reliability, integrity and availability of critical production and processing equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

Routine and non-routine maintenance of instrumentation and control systems
Fault finding, diagnostics and defect resolution on critical plant equipment
Commissioning and decommissioning activities
Supporting plant modifications and improvement projects
Maintaining accurate maintenance records and technical reports
Ensuring compliance with site safety systems, permits and procedures
Working on systems including:
- Fiscal Metering
- Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
- Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD)
- Fire & Gas Systems

About You

We are keen to hear from technicians with:

Recognised Instrument Technician qualification
Oil & Gas, petrochemical or process industry maintenance experience
Strong knowledge of instrumentation, metering and fire & gas systems
Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Good communication and organisational abilities
Experience using maintenance management systems
Onshore or offshore maintenance experience preferred

Working Pattern & Benefits

Current rotation: Week-on / Week-off (until end of September)
From 1st October: Fixed 9-Day Fortnight
Working hours: 07:30 - 16:30 (9 hours onsite per day)
33 days annual leave entitlement, taken during working time
Long-term contract expected to run until 2028
