Atlas NextWave is partnering with an international energy and infrastructure developer with an expanding presence across the Asia-Pacific data centre market.
The company has an established track record of developing and delivering large-scale data centre infrastructure in Europe and is now expanding its development platform across APAC, with an active project in Malaysia and further opportunities under evaluation across the region.
We are seeking a senior development professional to lead the company's APAC data centre development activities, based in Singapore.
This is a hands-on development and origination role, rather than an investment-focused position. The successful candidate will take ownership of identifying, originating and progressing new data centre opportunities across APAC, working closely with internal stakeholders, landowners, utilities, customers, partners and other key counterparties.
The role will suit an experienced data centre professional who has successfully taken at least one major data centre project through development and into a transaction, flip, monetisation or similar value-realisation event.
The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing and expanding the company's APAC data centre development pipeline.
Lead the origination and development of data centre opportunities across APAC, with an initial focus on priority markets in Southeast and North Asia.
Identify and assess new opportunities, including land, power, connectivity, customer demand and development partnerships.
Build and maintain relationships with landowners, utilities, government authorities, data centre operators, hyperscalers, investors and other key stakeholders.
Lead opportunities from initial origination through feasibility, development and commercial structuring.
Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to progress projects through key development milestones.
Evaluate development risks and opportunities across land, power, permitting, grid connection, infrastructure and commercial considerations.
Support the negotiation and structuring of partnerships, development agreements, customer arrangements and other commercial transactions.
Work closely with senior management on the prioritisation and development of the APAC data centre pipeline.
Support project monetisation, sale, joint venture or other value-realisation processes as projects mature.
Provide market intelligence and strategic insight on the APAC data centre market, including emerging locations, power availability, customer demand and competitive activity.
Represent the company with senior external stakeholders and establish the company as a credible data centre development partner across the region.
Travel regularly across APAC as required.
Significant experience in data centre development, origination or project development, ideally within a developer, operator, infrastructure platform or similar organisation.
Proven track record of originating and developing data centre projects from early-stage opportunity through to a successful transaction, flip, monetisation or comparable exit/value-realisation event.
Strong understanding of the key requirements for successful data centre development, including power, land, connectivity, permitting and customer requirements.
Demonstrable experience identifying and securing new development opportunities rather than purely managing construction or operations.
Strong commercial and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to originate opportunities and build relationships at senior level.
Existing network across the APAC data centre ecosystem is highly advantageous.
Experience across Southeast Asia and/or North Asia strongly preferred.
Entrepreneurial and hands-on approach, with the ability to operate independently and build a regional development pipeline.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Willingness to travel extensively across APAC.
Candidates must be currently based in Singapore and have full working rights.
