    FIM Operations Technician

Den Helder | Offshore Operations & Central Control Room
Lead offshore interventions. Take control onshore. Keep North Sea operations running safely.

    Job description

Looking for a role that combines technical problem-solving with operational leadership? This opportunity brings together two responsibilities: leading an offshore intervention team and managing offshore facilities remotely from a Central Control Room in Den Helder.

You'll alternate between preparing and supervising offshore campaigns, responding to operational issues and monitoring production from the control room.

    What you'll do

    Lead offshore interventions

    • Prepare the scope of planned campaigns with the Area Superintendent.
    • Lead a team of 3-6 during interventions on normally unmanned offshore installations.
    • Coordinate local control room activities and resolve technical issues with your team.
    • Validate Permits to Work and take responsibility for emergency response leadership.
    • Maintain clear communication with the onshore organisation and Central Control Room.

Keep operations on track from the control room

    • Monitor offshore facilities through integrated control and safety systems.
    • Analyse operating trends, identify potential disruptions and take corrective action remotely.
    • Monitor production and gas delivery against targets.
    • Coordinate with pipeline operators and commercial colleagues on delivery requirements.

Safety sits at the centre of every decision. You'll maintain high standards for health, safety and environmental protection, reporting and addressing operational concerns.

    What you bring

    • Around 10 years of relevant operational experience.
    • MBO-level education or professional ability.
    • Experience using SAP.
    • Fluent English.
    • A collaborative approach and the confidence to lead a team.
    • Strong operational judgement and a structured approach to preparation and problem-solving.

    Working pattern

The role alternates between intervention duties and Central Control Room operations:

    • Intervention duty: two-week periods working office hours, with 24/7 on-call availability.
    • Control room duty: eight-hour shifts covering mornings, afternoons and nights.

    Why this role?

You'll combine hands-on offshore work with control room operations, bringing variety, team leadership and direct responsibility for safe, reliable North Sea production.
