Field Service Technician - Energy Storage
    Finland | Permanent
Put your electrical expertise to work powering the energy transition.

    Job description

From storing renewable energy to supporting a reliable electricity grid, battery energy storage systems are changing how we power our communities. This is your opportunity to keep those systems performing when they matter most.
Our client, an international energy technology company, is looking for a Field Service Technician to support its growing Energy Storage Systems (ESS) business in Finland. You'll combine hands-on technical work with independence, customer contact and opportunities to develop your expertise in an expanding sector.

    Your role
You'll be the technical expert on site, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing energy storage systems and transformer substations. Working primarily across Finland, with potential assignments elsewhere in the Nordics, you'll take ownership of technical challenges with support from an experienced international engineering team.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Carrying out planned maintenance to keep installations safe, reliable and ready to perform.
    • Diagnosing electrical and control faults, replacing components and restoring system operation.
    • Performing inspections, electrical measurements and technical checks.
    • Working with Support Engineers to resolve complex technical issues.
    • Recording maintenance activities, faults and spare parts usage.
    • Keeping your service vehicle equipped with the tools and parts you need.
    • Feeding practical insights back to engineering teams to improve products and service.
    • Maintaining high safety standards and reporting incidents and deviations.

    What you bring
You're an electrical professional who enjoys understanding how systems work, solving problems and taking responsibility. You're comfortable working independently at customer sites and enjoy a role that gets you out into the field.
    You'll bring:

    • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from a university of applied sciences, or a relevant electrical vocational qualification.
    • 3-5 years of electrical experience, with energy storage or high-voltage experience considered an advantage.
    • S2 electrical qualification.
    • Experience with PLC systems, such as Siemens, and embedded software.
    • Good knowledge of low- and high-voltage installations.
    • Familiarity with SFS 6000 and SFS 6001 standards.
    • Valid SFS 6002 electrical safety training, an Occupational Safety Card and EA1 first aid training.
    • The qualifications and safety training required for the role under Tukes requirements.
    • ID06 and Valtti cards.
    • A category B driving license.
    • Good Finnish and English language skills.

    What's in it for you?
Build your career in energy storage while enjoying the freedom of a field-based role and the backing of an international technical team.

    • Company car, mobile phone and laptop.
    • Employee benefits including Epassi wellbeing support.
    • Comprehensive accident insurance.
    • Opportunities to deepen your technical expertise and progress your career.
    • Partial remote working where the role allows.
