The Engine Room Supervisor will exhibit good leadership, supervisory and safety behaviours and will specifically ensure that all aspects of Engine Room operation and maintenance are carried out safely, through careful delegation and control of responsibilities.

Job description

STCW III/2 Chief Engineer Officer on ships powered by main propulsion machinery of 3,000 kW propulsion power or more (Steam and Motor endorsement preferred), (DCE for Petroleum/Gas as appropriate).
Experience as Chief Engineer on VLCC preferred and at least 2 yrs as 1st Engineer.
Experience and knowledge of hydrocarbon processing and utility systems desirable.
Computer literate in Management System 'Office' s oftware packages and experienced on maintenance management systems.
Experience in Permit to Work Systems.
Medically fit to offshore International standards.
Prepare Engine Room Plant and Systems for start-up, including vessel utility systems sourced from ER.
Start and Monitor Engine Room Plant and Systems, including ves sel utility systems sourced from ER.
Prepare and Shutdown Engine Room Plant and Systems, including vessel utility sys tems sourced from ER.
Isolate and reinstate Engine Room Plant and for Maintenance, including vessel utility systems sourced from ER.
Ensure all plant and machinery complies with Class and Inspections.
Developing critical situations (operational, weather, equipment failure, leaks, fires personnel etc) are identified and logged for later analysis.
