    Atlas NextWave is delighted to be supporting a leading global engineering and energy organisation in the recruitment of an experienced Site Document Controller for a long-term construction project in Norfolk.

    Job description

    This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a high-profile infrastructure programme, playing a critical role in ensuring accurate document control, technical information management, and effective project communication throughout the construction lifecycle.

    The Role

    As Site Document Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining and administering project documentation on-site, ensuring that project teams always have access to the latest approved information. You will work closely with project, engineering, supplier, and construction teams to manage document workflows and support successful project delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Administer and maintain technical documentation at the construction site.
    • Manage document control activities using project document management systems.
    • Maintain the Site Drawing Index (SDI).
    • Record, issue, track and stamp construction drawings.
    • Coordinate drawing and document transmittals between the project office and site teams.
    • Ensure the availability of current and controlled documentation on-site.
    • Manage incoming and outgoing project documentation from suppliers, customers and third parties.
    • Support the collection and management of red-line mark-ups for as-built documentation.
    • Perform quality checks on project deliverables.
    • Support review workflows and distribution of comments and responses.
    • Assist with hard-copy submissions and general office administration duties.
    • Work collaboratively with the wider project and document control teams.

    Essential Requirements

    • Minimum 2 years' document control experience on engineering, construction or infrastructure projects.
    • Experience using document management systems and electronic document control platforms.
    • Strong understanding of document control processes and quality requirements.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common document management systems.
    • Eligibility to work in the UK.
    • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel to site.

    Desirable

    • Document or Configuration Control training.
    • Experience with systems such as Aconex, SharePoint, ACC or similar EDMS platforms.
    • Engineering, project management or related qualification.
