Deck Engineer

Atlas NextWave is currently recruiting an experienced Deck Engineer to join our client's DP2 well intervention and saturation diving vessel operating in the UK.

Duration: 2 weeks

The Deck Engineer is primarily responsible for the maintenance of hydraulic equipment associated with heavy cranes, derricks, deck hydraulics and subsea equipment. The role may also involve providing assistance with diving system hydraulic machinery and other installed hydraulic equipment systems.

Duties include:

• Ensure a thorough understanding of all machinery and systems to enable essential services to be safely and efficiently restored in an emergency.
• Understand and comply with all relevant company policies, procedures, management systems and instructions.
• Assist with survey work as directed by a Senior Officer.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and provide comprehensive handover notes covering all work undertaken during their period of engagement onboard.
• Ensure all relevant manuals and technical drawings are kept up to date.
• Notify the Chief Engineer of any spare parts, equipment and stores requirements.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of all relevant codes of practice.
• Keep the Chief Engineer informed of work progress and report any defects or issues within their area of responsibility to the Second Engineer and Chief Engineer.
• Maintain a sound working knowledge of the unit's hydraulic plant and associated systems.
• Carry out any additional duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer.

Certification Required:

• BOSIET with CA-EBS
• MIST
• Shoulder Measurements
• OEUK
• Proficiency in Security Awareness
