Assist the Watch Officers in performing preventative maintenance and inspections on equipment related to the marine department.
Perform maintenance and inspections on equipment related to firefighting, rescue, safety, and watertight integrity.

Job description

Graduate of a technical school or university where the knowledge and training acquired are applicable to the position requirements (Preferred).
Valid OEUK Medical Certificate.
STCW10 II/5 Certificate (Able Seafarer Deck).
STCW10 II/5 Endorsement (Able Seafarer Deck).

Responsibilities:

Support general deck operations and the maintenance of the vessel or offshore platform, including the upkeep of safety, lifesaving, firefighting, and pollution prevention equipment. Participate in maritime operations, navigational watchkeeping, cargo handling activities, product transfer operations, anchor handling, and vessel mooring procedures.

Assist with housekeeping, cleaning, and maintenance of decks and facilities; operation of lifting equipment and cargo handling gear; basic maintenance of machinery and equipment; inspection and handling of wires, ropes, and slings; scaffold erection; and surface preparation and painting activities. Also provide support during helicopter operations and in the operation of survival craft and rescue boats, always in compliance with established safety procedures.
