3rd Electrician

Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, fault-finding, testing, inspections, and repairs. The 3rd Electrician will work with generators, switchboards, motors, distribution systems, lighting, alarms, control systems, cranes, winches, pipe-lay equipment, tensioning systems, and other electrical installations onboard. The position also supports planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, electrical isolations, commissioning, and testing activities.

The 3rd Electrician works under the supervision of the senior electrical officer and cooperates closely with the engine department, deck crew, and offshore construction teams. The role requires strict compliance with electrical safety procedures, lock-out/tag-out procedures, the vessel's Safety Management System, and applicable maritime regulations. Participation in emergency drills, safety exercises, and standby duties is required.

Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of sea-going experience in the rank of 3rd Electrician. Previous experience on pipe-lay vessels or offshore construction vessels is strongly preferred. Good knowledge of marine electrical systems, fault-finding, preventive maintenance, and electrical repairs is required.

The candidate must hold a valid Certificate of Competence (CoC) as Electro-Technical Rating III/7, together with a valid Passport, Seaman's Book, and STCW Medical Certificate.

The following training and certificates are required: STCW Basic Safety Training, Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats, Advanced Fire Fighting, Designated Security Duties, Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET), Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS), and High Voltage.

Good spoken and written English, strong safety awareness, reliability, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural offshore environment are essential.
