Atlas NextWave continues to expand its global footprint across energy and renewables, with a growing presence throughout Latin America and Mexico. At the centre of this development is Lourdes Landa Thierry, Business Director South America & Mexico, who has been recognised in Mexico as one of the most influential leaders in the energy sector. Her expertise and leadership are shaping new opportunities across the region while strengthening Atlas NextWave’s position as a trusted partner in complex markets.
Lourdes brings a unique combination of legal, financial, and project management expertise to Atlas NextWave. She holds degrees in Law, Accounting and Finance, as well as advanced specialisations in International Tax Law and Public Policy from leading universities including NYU and Harvard. She also earned a Master’s in Financial Strategy and Project Management from the University of Oxford.
This academic foundation, combined with more than a decade of professional experience in Oil & Gas, positions Lourdes as a highly respected figure in international taxation, compliance, and large-scale energy project development.
Her recognition as one of the most influential voices in Mexico’s energy sector reflects her ability to bridge complex areas such as international taxation, compliance, and project management. Lourdes is not only a trusted advisor to Atlas NextWave’s clients but also a respected thought leader contributing to how governments and organisations approach energy strategy across Latin America.
Lourdes is currently spearheading Atlas NextWave’s regional operations, including a landmark drilling project in Suriname in partnership with Noble Drilling. The campaign highlights Suriname’s potential as one of the most promising energy markets in the Americas, with comparisons often made to Guyana’s recent success. Her leadership reflects Atlas NextWave’s strategy of being more than a recruitment agency. As Lourdes explains, “Our role is to be a long-term knowledge partner, helping clients enter new markets, ensuring compliance, and enabling sustainable workforce development.”

Across the wider region, Atlas NextWave is also supporting companies in Suriname, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, Colombia, and Argentina as they look to capitalise on new discoveries and investments in both Oil & Gas and renewables.
