Kick-start your Offshore career with Atlas NextWave

Due to client and market demand, Atlas NextWave are expanding their long-standing Greenhand Roustabout Programme to technical positions, introducing a bespoke Technical Greenhand Programme from May 2022 onwards for Onshore Professionals with a technical background interested in going Offshore for the first time.

Qualifying trades include Motorman, Mechanic / Assistant Mechanic, Electrician / Assistant Electrician and Assistant Crane Operator. The minimum certificates required to be considered for the Technical Greenhand Programme are listed below in FAQ’s.

How do I attend a Technical Greenhand Training Day?

Register for one of our upcoming Technical Greenhand Training Days and complete your Atlas account. Once submitted, our recruitment team will review your application and confirm your place.

What happens during the Greenhand Training Day?

The day includes safety awareness training with our HSE Manager, an overview of the recruitment process from a Consultant, and an aptitude test to assess your suitability for offshore work.

Where does the training take place?

The Technical Greenhand Training Day will be held in various locations depending on the locations of applicants.

How long is the training?

The Training Day is completed in one day. All activities, including safety awareness, recruitment overview, and the aptitude test, take place on the same day.

What job can I be offered as a result of Greenhand training?

After training, we promote your CV to clients for technical roles based on client needs. Depending on demand, both rotational and ad hoc jobs may be available.

How much does it cost to attend?

The Training Day is free of charge and funded by Atlas NextWave. Candidates only need to cover personal costs such as travel, meals, or accommodation if required.

What certificates do I need?

To gain employment as a Technical Greenhand, you will need Fit to Train, BOSIET with CA EBS, OGUK Medical, MIST and Shoulder Measurements. All of these certificates are essential.

What certificates are needed for Electricians?

Electrician/Assistant: Trade Paper, Compex, 18th Edition, City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

What certificates are needed for Mechanics?

Mechanic/Assistant/Motorman: City & Guilds, Trade Paper, NVQ Level 3, CoC OOW or equivalent.

What certificates are needed for Crane Operators?

Assistant Crane Operator: Crane Op Stage 2.

Technical Greenhands can access exclusive discounted training rates after attending a Training Day. Costs vary by location and provider.

Attend a Greenhand Training Day

If your profile matches the Technical Greenhand criteria, you’ll be invited to a Training Day. As we receive many applications, this process may take some time.
