Job description

We are currently looking for 3 x Mechanical Fitters for a 4-week assignment onboard the Safe Caledonia, based in Scapa Flow, Orkney, commencing 23rd September.

Scope of Work

The work will involve:

Removal of 4 x existing sand filters, including filter media, and installation of replacement units
Extensive plastic pipework installation and modification, including the fabrication and installation of brackets and supports
Connecting electrodes and associated components as part of the plastic fusion process
Work associated with the reverse osmosis (RO) system upgrade
General mechanical fitting and installation duties

Experience Required

Candidates should have strong mechanical fitting experience, particularly with pipework and fabrication.
Previous experience with plastic pipework, filtration systems, water treatment systems or reverse osmosis (RO) systems would be highly advantageous.

Medical Requirements

Candidates must hold a valid:

Seafarer Medical, or
OEUK/OGUK Medical

Due to the location of the vessel operating within 12 nautical miles of the UK, candidates must be either:

UK passport holders, or
Holders of a valid Frontier Worker Permit
