    Job description

    Atlas Next Wave is supporting a leading global contractor in the search for an HSE Engineer.
    The HSE Engineer is responsible for implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental systems to ensure compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and regulatory standards. Working closely with operations and project teams, the role promotes a strong safety culture across fabrication, lifting, welding, logistics, equipment operations, and other high-risk yard activities.
    Key Responsibilities

    • Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, risk assessments, permit-to-work systems, and safe work practices.
    • Conduct site inspections, audits, hazard observations, and behavioural safety assessments.
    • Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
    • Review high-risk activities including lifting operations, hot work, confined space entry, working at height, and heavy equipment operations.
    • Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and safety awareness training.
    • Monitor compliance with PPE, housekeeping, environmental controls, waste management, and emergency response requirements.
    • Maintain HSE reports, inspection records, training logs, and corrective action trackers.
    • Liaise with client HSE representatives, supervisors, and project management on safety performance.
    • Degree, diploma, or professional qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Management, or a related field.
    • Minimum 5 years' HSE experience in oil & gas, fabrication, construction, marine, logistics, or heavy industrial environments.
    • Strong knowledge of risk assessments, permit-to-work systems, incident investigations, job safety analysis, and emergency response.
    • Experience supporting high-risk operations, including lifting, welding, hot work, equipment movement, and contractor management.
    • Excellent communication, reporting, coaching, and stakeholder engagement skills.

    Preferred

    • NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, STOW, ISO 45001/14001, or equivalent HSE certification.
    • Experience working with international contractors or oil & gas clients.
